AD Ports Group Launches AI Intelligence Headquarters Across 20 Workstreams in Abu Dhabi

AD Ports Group has launched its AI-driven business intelligence headquarters, known as IHQ, a group-wide platform that deploys thousands of digital workers and embeds artificial intelligence across 20 global operational workstreams. The launch took place at the group's Digital District at Zayed Port in Abu Dhabi and was attended by Dr Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of the Cybersecurity Council for the UAE Government.

The platform is aligned with the UAE's National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence, which targets positioning the country as a global AI leader by 2031. AD Ports Group described the launch as a milestone in more than two decades of continuous investment in digital innovation, and said IHQ will accelerate the group's digital transformation by systematically leveraging AI through an approach that prioritises security, transparency, and responsible deployment.

What IHQ Actually Does

IHQ is not a single application but an enterprise-wide operating framework. At launch, the platform demonstrated transformed workflow capabilities across several workstreams, including port and berth optimisation, vessel arrival orchestration, software development, and talent acquisition. Over the coming months, the platform will be extended to cover all 20 of AD Ports Group's workstreams, with the stated objective of multiplying the group's operational capacity through AI augmentation rather than headcount expansion.

For customers and partners, the practical effect is expected to be progressive improvements in the speed, efficiency, and responsiveness of AD Ports Group's service offerings across its portfolio, which spans ports, economic cities and free zones, maritime and shipping, logistics, and digital clusters.

Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO, framed the launch as a continuation of a long-term infrastructure investment:

Investment in a solid digital foundation has made this possible. Mohamed Jamal Eddine, Group Chief Digital and Information Officer, described the ambition in operational terms:

"IHQ will make AI operational at enterprise scale. Every workstream selected for AI-powered transformation sits at a critical juncture, where artificial intelligence can measurably improve speed, accuracy and decision quality."

The AD Ports IHQ launch is significant not just as a corporate announcement but as a demonstration of what enterprise-scale AI deployment looks like in a major GCC infrastructure operator. The group handles trade flows connecting the UAE to markets across Asia, Africa, and Europe, and operates assets in more than 50 locations globally. Embedding AI across 20 core workstreams at an organisation of this scale represents a materially different level of commitment than a pilot programme or a single-function deployment.

It also reflects the pattern identified in Confluent's 2026 research, which found that 38% of UAE organisations are already running agentic AI in live production environments, placing the country among the highest-ranked markets globally for AI deployment maturity. AD Ports IHQ is a concrete, named example of what that statistic looks like in practice at an enterprise level.

The platform's emphasis on responsible AI, with security and transparency as design principles rather than add-ons, also connects to the broader governance conversation the DGHR Multaqa 2026 forum addressed this week, where Dubai government leaders concluded that AI deployment at scale requires institutional frameworks that preserve human accountability.
