The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has made history by becoming the first utility provider globally to integrate its customer services directly with ChatGPT. This pioneering move allows Dubai residents to manage their utility accounts through simple, conversational AI interactions.

With this new integration, customers can simply ask ChatGPT to "Show me my last bill," "Locate the nearest EV charger," or "Explain high consumption this month." The system leverages OpenAI's advanced natural language processing to understand requests and fetch real-time data from DEWA's secure servers.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, emphasized that this launch is a critical step in DEWA's digital transformation journey. "we are not just adopting technology; we are reshaping the utility experience to be proactive, predictive, and personalized," he stated.
