A new flagship report from the Microsoft AI Economy Institute has revealed a stark divergence in the Middle East: The UAE is the global number one in AI adoption, while Saudi Arabia—despite massive investment—is still finding its footing.

The report measures "AI Diffusion"—the percentage of the working-age population that actively uses generative AI tools.

• UAE (Rank #1): 64.0% adoption rate. The Emirates have extended their lead over second-place Singapore (60.9%) and are miles ahead of the United States (28.3%).
